Online Peer Networking Quickstart Guide

OPN Email Forum Norms

* If you have a response to an OPN email that is intended for only one person, you must cut and paste their email address in to “To” field versus hitting “Reply All” in an effort not to spam all OPN members.

* If you offer yourself as a resource through an OPN request, please insert your phone number and/or have a signature available within the email in order for members to reach out to you easily.

* In an effort to maintain a robust dialogue within the OPN forum, please try not to answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’ in response to a forum request.

* Please do not send out job postings via the OPN forum.  If you would like to network a job with your colleagues, please either send the posting to your Community Connections Director or directly to your networks private OPN forum.

Subscription Settings

Control how you receive email and participate in Online Peer Networking. Each option is briefly described below:

  1. No Change.  Use the Executive Networks Online Peer Networking system just as you have been. To do this no new action is required on your part. You will receive all member postings and responses by email and can reply to any of them by email. To start a new topic of your own or make a request to all Executive Networks members, send an email to allnetworks@opn.executivenetworks.com.
  2. Email Notification of new topics only.  You will only receive an email when someone has started a new topic. You may reply to this new topic by email. However, you will not receive any other replies from other members to this topic. You will be able to follow a link in the original email to the Online Peer Networking website and participate online or view other replies on the topic.
  3. Email Digest.  You will only receive an email once a day – a Digest -- (or more or less often at your choosing) and it will include a list of any new topics and replies that occurred since your last digest.  If you wish, you can reply by email to postings in the Digest or follow the links in any Digest to the Online Peer Networking website where you can participate online or choose to receive email notices of future messages on topics that have already been started.
  4. Notification of new topics AND an email digest. Receive an email when someone has started a new topic as described in #2. Also, receive a digest email once a day (or the number of times you set it for) with all new topics and replies combined in that one email as described in #3.
  5. No email.  You will not receive any email notifications of activity of topics started or discussed by members. However, you can visit the Online Peer Networking website to read postings by other members. You can also start a new topic on the website and visit it at any time to see if you have replies.
